What's the Idea?The idea is based on a new and proven advertising technique known as Pixel Advertising. Pixels cost £10 per block sold in 100-pixel blocks (each measuring 10 x 10 pixels) and stay on the page for 3 years.
Whether you sell motorcycles, accessories, clothing, motorcycle parts or simply want to publicise clubs or events, you can buy as many pixels as you like as long as there are some available (see the live stats in the top right corner of the page). Watch your motorcycle sales grow. When you buy pixels you display an image/ad/logo of your choice in the space you have purchased. You can also have the image click through to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed.
The pixels you buy will be displayed on the home page permanently for at least 3 years offering great value. All initial revenue from ads placed on the site will be used to advertise the site on all leading search engines, bike site links, forums and in all the best UK motorcycle mags and papers. I will then continue to invest in advertising the site on an ongoing basis. I will keep you up to date on the advertising schedule in The Biker Blog and welcome suggestions for where you would like to see the site advertised. I will be placing the first ad shortly in Motorcycle News (MCN) for openers. So the upshot is that you pay once for your place on the site, we then invest in publicising the site several times over to drive high volume traffic to the site.
The original idea was born a few months back with The 'Million Dollar Home Page', which allowed anyone to buy pixels for $1 each from anywhere in the world for pretty much anything. The page was sold out within a few months. The Biker Page builds on the idea to create a targeted site excusively for motorcycles in the UK, with potential to extend to the rest of Europe.
Who are You?My name is Pete 'fearless' Furner, I live in Oxford and have been riding motorcycles for over 20 years. My current bike is a Honda CB1300. I'd love to own several but can't afford to so I though this idea might get things moving in the right direction or at least pay for a new set of tyres for the CB. Fingers crossed.

Why Should I Buy Your Pixels?Well, I could say that there isn't anything like this yet for motorcycles so it's sure to have some novelty value, but the real reason is that it stacks up commercially in terms of real advertising value. You get more bang for your buck as they say. I expect to invest thousands in promoting the space over the next 3 years. You pay a fraction to be on that space. The earlier you get on the page the better the choice of position you have and the more your logo will stand out.
I believe that motorcycles, accessories and events are highly browsable commodities to motorcyclists who are after all natural enthusiasts. I expect the site to be a popular place for frequent re-visits.
What Happens after 3 Years?When you buy space on the site your advertisement will run for a 3 year term. At the end of 3 years you will be able to renew your spot for whatever the cost per pixel on the renewal date. Your ad will then run for a further 3 years and so on. If you choose not to renew then your ad will be removed and the space put back on the market.
Will it be possible to change the logo and/or URL we use when we feel like it? We have several websites and products.This is a common request and involves an administration overhead on my part so there is a fixed charge for each change.1) You buy the number of blocks required in the normal way. 2) You email me any future changes. 3) For each change there is a charge of one block (currently £10).
